Field Operations Manager
About Us
Daisy is a tech-driven residential property management company on a mission to improve the way people live by transforming the way buildings run. In just three years, we’ve grown to manage over 250 buildings. Our team is collaborative, moves quickly, and is passionate about disrupting an outdated industry and making a real difference in people’s lives.
Overview
Daisy is hiring a Field Operations Manager who lives in the buildings — not behind a desk.
This role is responsible for being our eyes and ears across the portfolio. You will visit buildings throughout NYC, proactively identify cosmetic and mechanical issues, assess building health, and translate what you see into clear, actionable tickets for the operations team.
You are not here to “do the task.”
You are here to identify the problem, understand its root cause, and push toward lasting solutions.
You will represent Daisy onsite with boards, residents, supers, and vendors — embodying our culture of accountability, hospitality, and operational excellence.
This role also includes a rotating weekly emergency on-call shift. During that time, you are responsible for thinking clearly under pressure, coordinating the right response, and documenting thoroughly.
If you are hungry, curious, and excited to grow in the facilities and property operations world — this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct proactive building walkthroughs across NYC properties
- Identify maintenance, safety, compliance, and cosmetic issues before they escalate
- Assess both visible and underlying mechanical concerns (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, building systems)
- Create structured, detailed tickets with clear scope, context, and next steps
- Partner with onsite staff to improve building health and resident experience
- Represent Daisy professionally in client-facing environments
- Support emergency response during your weekly on-call rotation
- Evaluate emergencies holistically (risk, safety, building impact, root cause)
- Ensure thorough documentation, photos, and follow-up after incidents
- Identify trends across recurring issues and propose long-term operational improvements
About You
- You are observant. You notice what others walk past.
- You think in systems, not just symptoms.
- You are comfortable in buildings, basements, boiler rooms, rooftops, and mechanical spaces.
- You are client-facing and professional — you communicate clearly and confidently.
- You are hungry to learn and not afraid to ask questions.
- You prefer solving problems over just completing tasks.
- You are comfortable using technology to document, track, and improve operations.
- You have strong ownership and don’t need to be micromanaged.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, facilities, hospitality, logistics, or real estate
- Basic working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety)
- Experience using digital tools, ticketing systems, or CMMS platforms
- Tech-savvy and excited to leverage tools to improve efficiency
- Strong familiarity with NYC geography and ability to travel across the five boroughs
- Ability to participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule
Location: New York City (Five Boroughs)
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a competitive benefits package, which will be discussed during the interview process.
